A. DISPLAYS FOR CHARITIES

HELPING RAISE FUNDS FOR THE SAMMYS
The Sokudo Squad turned out in full force for the "Sammys Fun Carnival" on Sunday 22 April 2001 at the McCallum Park, Perth, to assist the Good Samaritans in their charity Fund Raising Drive. The Squad gave a 20-minutes display which was very well received by the crowd. A CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION was presented to the Squad for their efforts....

HELPING THE NORTH PERTH ROTARY CLUB IN THE HYDE PARK "COMMUNITY FAIR"
Whenever there is a major fund-raising event in Perth you will find the Sokudo Squad there. For the third successive year, the Sokudo Squad took part in this major fund raising event of the North Perth Rotary Club. This year's event was held on Sunday 5 March 2001 at the Hyde Park Perth. As usual, there was enthusiastic response to the Display given by the Squad. In the words of one of the organisers, "You guys stole the limelight..."

HELPING McDONALD'S CHILDREN CHARITIES
The Sokudo Squad is a hit with the children - judging from their response to our Displays in McHappy Day. The Squad had assisted McDonalds for six successive years in their McHappy Day function to raise funds for Children's charities.

B. SCHOOLS & COLLEGES CIRCUIT

THE URSULA FRAYNE CATHOLIC COLLEGE
The Sokudo squad held a Display for students of the Ursula Frayne Catholic College on Thursday 21st September 2000. The Display was followed by a Workshop on techniques conducted by our Instructors. The Instructors also gave a background of the Art of Ninjukai Taijutsu to the students.

COLLEGE OF TAFE MT. LAWLEY
The Sokudo squad helped in the Mental Health Week organised by Mt Lawley TAFE. The week hoped to arouse mental awareness for students of the institute. The display took place on the 11th of October 2000. Sensei Paul Reed took the opportunity to elaborate on the need to balance mind and body in our everyday lives.

**FLASHBACK... the Sokudo Squad has been invited many times to TAFE for displays and martial art demonstrations. Below is a letter of Invitation we received way back in 1990....


 

TRINITY COLLEGE EAST PERTH
In July 1998, the Deputy Principal of Trinity College (Ms Kelly Commisso) wrote to us requesting that we conduct a course for their students (as part of their physical education program). A short course in Ninjukai Taijutsu was conducted between the months of September and October that year. Later that year the Sokudo Squad also gave a Display at the "Family Fete 98"....

C. HELPING THE LOCAL COUNCILS & SHIRES - AND THROUGH THEM THE COMMUNITY

As an Organisation we NEVER forget our role in the community. We have never refused a request for help from the Local Councils and shires. We assist them in their local festivals and Community Fairs. Through our displays we try to help the Councils bring the community together

THE CITY OF BELMONT
For three successive years the Sokudo Squad has assisted the City of Belmont in its annual "City Fair" - a family-oriented festival. The last Display on Sunday 11 November 2000 received a tremendous response from the public.

THE TOWN OF BASSENDEAN
For many years we have been represented in the Bassendean Community Fair. On official from the Shire commented, "The Fair would never be the same without the Sokudo Squad..." Our last performance was on Sunday 5 November 2000.

THE CITY OF WANNEROO
Looking back.........the Sokudo Squad has been participating in Council and Shire events for more than ten years now. The Squad took part in the "Community Festival" of Wanneroo for two years in 1990 and 1991.....
